The mausoleum and pilgrimage complex of Bahauddin Naqshband, founder of the Naqshbandi Sufi order, draws pilgrims from across the Islamic world. Over five centuries, the last three dynasties of the emirs of Bukhara were buried here. Strolling through the inner courtyards, the mosque and the shade of the trees offers a quiet, spiritual atmosphere. It is a 15–20 minute taxi ride from the city.
