"CHILDREN OF TURKESTAN" (A drama in two acts). The play is about students who dreamed of seeing Turkestan free and prosperous, struggled for that goal, and studied in Germany in the last century with the help of the Jadids. The students differ in age and in the fields they chose and studied. But one single goal united them all — the goal of raising Turkestan up. They spend all their strength on the path to this goal. They even put their precious lives at stake. They work tirelessly so that the homeland's tomorrow will be free and prosperous and the future generation will be educated. But, just like the Jadids, they too are drawn into the grip of the bloody policy of the Soviet government. All the students except Maryam Sultonmurodova become victims of the Soviet government, alongside the Jadid enlighteners. The play was written using B. Irzaev's book "Uzbek Youth and Foreign Education" and J. Jovliev's novel "Don't Be Afraid".
