The Republican Children's Library is hosting an exhibition of book graphics by the Karakalpak artist Kydyrbay Nazhimov.

Kydyrbay Nazhimov (1942−1995) worked for more than thirty years at the Karakalpakstan publishing house in Nukus, first as senior art editor and then as chief artist. He illustrated hundreds of books: Karakalpak epics and folk tales, translations of Russian classics, Stevenson, Mickiewicz, Abai, and dozens of children's editions. The exhibition shows scans of works from the Savitsky Museum collection alongside the books they were created for. Most of the works were made in the scratchboard (grattage) technique: the drawing is scratched into a sheet coated with wax and ink.

Until December, the exhibition is accompanied by a program: children will get to know scratchboard, stencil and printing techniques, book design and animation, listen to Karakalpak tales and a lecture by Muzaffar Ishanov, a researcher at the Savitsky Museum. Some events require advance registration. The library is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, age 0+.

Free admission.
