Siyob Bazaar
Market · Samarkand

The ancient Siyob Bazaar next to Bibi-Khanym Mosque sells bread, spices, fruit and tea. Samarkand bread, Uzbekistan's most famous, is baked inside a tandoor oven. From 6 a.m. you can watch the bakers at work. Colourful spices, dried fruit and local sweets fill the stalls. This is the heart of genuine local life.
