Bukhara is the Central Asian centre of zardozi, the art of embroidering with gold thread, a craft passed down from generation to generation. In a local master's workshop you can watch the process, try stitching a small piece yourself and buy finished embroidered items. Demonstrations take place daily in the workshops near the Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah.
